Enough Fake Records to Fill a Fake Record Store

When I was a scrappy young pup on the internet, I was obsessed with the Fake Album Cover design challenge that would up being linked up and down LiveJournal. (Remember that nonsense?) It’s still alive and archived thanks to the fine folks at Fake Album Covers, who have saved the rules of this ridiculous rabbit hole design exercise on a lovely little website that will give you everything you need to get into the swing of things.

In case you’re unaware, the rules are:

  1. The title of a random Wikipedia page is the name of your band.

  2. The last five words of a random quote from QuotationsPage is your title.

  3. A random photo from Flickr’s Interesting Page is your cover art.

I tend to obey the spirit of the law, rather than the letter. I constantly refresh to find something that just screams to be paired together with another randomly generated result. I’m sure I’m not alone. Enjoy this small sample of the fake albums that you’ll scroll past in your ersatz iTunes.
